(Ashville)
Crafts of the 1820-1840 period will be featured at the Fall Festival of the St. Clair Historical society, 2nd Saturday each October at the John Looney House Pioneer Museum.
Along with barbecue and country cooking, visitors to the 1820 log house will enjoy music, farm products, face painting, hearing John Henry lore, and watching blacksmiths make sparks fly.
Oldtime crafts include quilting, spinning yarn, churning, soap making, and beekeeper’s demonstration.
Other demonstrations will include Indian basket making, natural bath products, homemade bread, fresh baked cakes, fried pies, and quilted items.
Proceeds from the Festival will help with repairs to the Looney House and other Society projects.
The Looney House is five miles south of Ashville Courthouse via Hwy. 231 and Greeensport .
